¶ Morpho UV Printer Refillable Ink System
The Morpho Refillable Ink System is an open ink platform designed for advanced users, makers, studios, and material experimentation.
Morpho supports refillable cartridges that can be filled with:
- Morpho Official Refill Ink
- Compatible Third-Party UV Ink
- Experimental Ink (Advanced Users)
This system gives experienced users greater flexibility while keeping official maintenance procedures and warranty boundaries clearly defined.
Important
UV ink directly affects the printhead, ink delivery system, UV curing performance, color accuracy, and long-term printer reliability. Before using any non-official ink, make sure you understand the associated maintenance requirements and compatibility risks.

Morpho currently supports three different ink workflows.

If reliability, color consistency, and predictable maintenance are your highest priorities, Morpho recommends using Official Sealed Cartridges or Official Refill Ink.
¶ Official Morpho Ink
Morpho official ink currently includes the following channels:

All official inks are optimized specifically for Morpho UV Printer, including matched print parameters, ICC profiles, maintenance procedures, and UV curing settings.
¶ Official Fluorescent Varnish
Morpho also offers an optional Official Fluorescent Varnish.
Instead of replacing color inks, simply replace the V (Varnish) channel with Fluorescent Varnish.

- Appears almost identical to standard clear varnish under normal lighting.
- Produces a bright fluorescent glow under ultraviolet (UV) light.
- Suitable for hidden graphics, artistic effects, decorative finishes, and security applications.
- Does not require changes to the CMYK color channels.
Because only the varnish channel is replaced, existing color workflows remain unchanged.

¶ Full-Color 3D Printing with Official Ink
Morpho's standard CMYKWV ink set supports more than traditional UV flatbed printing.
Without using any specialty ink, the printer is capable of producing unsupported full-color 3D structures exceeding 60 mm in height.
Examples include:

- Mount Fuji relief model
These projects are created entirely using the standard CMYKWV ink set.
No support ink or additional specialty ink is required.

Morpho also supports workflows that require removable support structures for complex 3D printing.
This workflow is intended for advanced users only.
To use Support Ink:
- Replace the K (Black) channel with a compatible support ink.
- Generate support structures using slicing software.
- Print the model with temporary support material.
Important
Morpho does not provide official Support Ink.
Users who wish to experiment with supported 3D printing must purchase compatible third-party support ink themselves.
Future versions of Morpho will include a dedicated slicing application to simplify support generation and supported 3D printing workflows.
¶ Third-Party Ink
Morpho is an Open Ink System.
Users are free to refill compatible cartridges with third-party UV inks.
However, using third-party ink introduces additional maintenance and compatibility risks.
Common issues include:
- Printhead clogging
- Missing nozzles
- White ink sedimentation
- Ink residue inside tubing
- Ink damper contamination
- Maintenance station contamination
- Pump contamination
- Pigment precipitation
- Ink incompatibility
- Insufficient UV curing
- Poor adhesion
- Sticky surfaces
- Color shifts
- ICC profile mismatch
- Cleaning fluid incompatibility
Even if a third-party ink prints successfully immediately after installation, long-term reliability cannot be guaranteed.

Advanced users may also replace individual ink channels with specialty inks.

Morpho does not certify the long-term compatibility, print quality, color accuracy, or printhead lifetime of third-party specialty inks.
¶ Ink Replacement
Never pour a new ink directly into a system containing another ink.
Residual ink remains inside:
- Ink cartridges
- Tubing
- Ink dampers
- Printhead
- Maintenance station
- Pump
Mixing incompatible inks may cause:
- Flocculation
- Pigment precipitation
- Printhead clogging
- Poor UV curing
- Color contamination
- Permanent ink-path contamination
Always perform a complete cleaning procedure before switching between:
- Official ink and third-party ink
- Different third-party inks
- Regular varnish and fluorescent varnish
- Regular ink and support ink
- Different experimental inks
After using third-party or experimental ink, complete the recommended cleaning procedure before switching back to official ink.
Simply refilling official ink does not automatically restore the ink system to official operating conditions.

Using third-party ink does not automatically void the warranty of the entire printer.
However, issues directly caused by non-official ink are not covered by Morpho's standard warranty.

- Cleaning failures
- UV curing problems
- Color accuracy issues
Mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software failures unrelated to ink continue to be covered under Morpho's standard warranty policy.

Users are encouraged to explore compatible third-party inks and experimental workflows.
However, only official Morpho inks are fully validated for:

When using third-party or experimental inks, users are responsible for verifying compatibility, maintenance requirements, and printing performance.

- Clean the ink system thoroughly before changing ink types.

No.
Never directly mix UV inks from different manufacturers, different formulations, or different application types without first cleaning the entire ink path.
